Policies and Insurance

A Word About Appointments:

Appointments are scheduled to make the best use of patient and professional time.  Patients late for an appointment alter the time allotted for subsequent appointments, causing dismay among those patients made to wait.  Please plan to come early to fill out any required paperwork. Bare in mind that each patient requires a different amount of time for evaluation and treatment.  Some shifts in time allotments are inevitable.  It might be your problem requiring a longer time slot.

Tardy and Missed Appointments Policy

In order to better serve our patients, it is important to fill all open visit spaces each day. Missed appointments do not allow us enough time to call other patients in need of an appointment to fill the space. Therefore, we may not be able to reschedule an appointment for you without doctor approval if you have 2 or more consecutive missed appointments OR if you have 3 or more missed appointments in 6 months.  Furthermore,  2 or more consecutive missed appointments may result in a $50 missed appointment charge.  We do our best to accommodate a patient late for their appointment but it might be necessary to  reschedule occasionally.

Payment Policy

Payment for treatment is due at the time of service, unless prior credit arrangements have been made. Payments may be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.

Insurance Policy

Pfister Vision Correction Center will electronically file any type of medical or vision insurance as a courtesy on behalf of the patient. The patient is responsible for providing complete insurance information.

In Network/ Out of Network Benefits

The patient must ask if his/her treating ophthalmologist or optometrist is an in-network provider for the patients insurance. One doctor might participate in a particular plan, while another might not. If the treating doctor is in the network, the patient will be will be responsible for any deductibles and co-pays on the day of treatment, and for any remaining allowed balance after insurance payments. If the treating doctor is not in the network, the patient will pay for all services at the time of treatment that are not covered by their insurance.
